Ibn Haldun University hosted the Türkiye-Malaysia Islamic Capital Markets Forum on June 2, 2026. Organized under the theme “Advancing Türkiye-Malaysia Collaboration in Islamic Capital Markets”, the forum aimed to strengthen collaboration between Türkiye and Malaysia in Islamic capital markets and to deepen institutional, academic, and sectoral engagement between the two countries.
The forum was held at the Ibn Haldun University campus with the participation of Securities Commission Malaysia, the Investment and Finance Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, the Capital Markets Board of Türkiye, the Turkish Capital Markets Association, capital market institutions, and industry representatives.
The opening session began with welcoming remarks by Prof. Dr. Atilla Arkan, Rector of Ibn Haldun University. The program continued with keynote addresses by Ali Erdurmuş, Vice Chairman of the Capital Markets Board of Türkiye; Furkan Karayaka, Vice President of the Investment and Finance Office of the Presidency of Türkiye; Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ibn Haldun University; and Prof. Dr. İrfan Gündüz, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ibn Haldun University.
As part of the forum, Rafiuddin Shikoh, CEO and Managing Partner of DinarStandard, delivered a presentation on the State of the Global Islamic Economy (SGIE) Report. The program then addressed Malaysia’s leadership in Islamic finance and Türkiye’s participation finance landscape through country perspective sessions.
The forum continued with sessions on the potential of participation finance in Türkiye, enabling cross-border financing and liquidity flows between Malaysia and Türkiye, and leveraging adaptation finance through Islamic capital markets. The panel titled “Leveraging Adaptation Finance through Islamic Capital Markets” was moderated by Asst. Prof. Fatih Al, Director of the Center for Applied Research in Islamic Economics and Finance at Ibn Haldun University.
The forum provided an important platform for developing long-term collaboration between Türkiye and Malaysia in Islamic capital markets, strengthening market connectivity, exploring joint research and policy dialogue opportunities, and identifying concrete areas of cooperation in sustainable finance.
