The Center for Applied Research in Islamic Economics and Finance (CIEF) at Ibn Haldun University was established to conduct high-quality research in Islamic economics and finance and to contribute to the design of new products, institutions, and policy frameworks. The Center builds on IHU’s strength in the social sciences and its commitment to intellectual independence while responding to the participation finance objectives set out in national development plans and to the opportunities offered by the Istanbul Financial Center.
CIEF approaches Islamic economics and finance not merely as a technical or sectoral field but also as a moral, social, and institutional project concerned with public benefit, trust, fairness, institutional credibility, and substantive impact. In line with this mission, the Center organizes national and international scholarly meetings, training seminars, certificate programs, and capacity-building activities; develops collaborative projects with academic, public, private-sector, and civil-society stakeholders; contributes to the advancement of graduate education in Islamic economics and finance; and provides research, consultancy, and capacity-building services for private-sector organizations and public institutions.
