Applications are now open for Ibn Haldun University’s thesis-based MA Program in Islamic Economics and Finance.
The program is designed for students interested in Islamic economics, participation finance, and contemporary research. With its thesis-based structure, the program offers a research-oriented graduate experience, supported by two academic tracks in Islamic Economics and Islamic Finance and a diverse range of elective courses.
The program is further enriched by globally recognized scholars and professionals newly joining its academic environment, including Prof. Mehmet Asutay, the 2024 IsDB Prize Laureate known for his pioneering work on Islamic moral economy and the relationship between Islamic finance, sustainable development, and human welfare (Islamic Economics); Prof. Asad Zaman, an MIT- and Stanford-educated economist known for his work on economics education and methodology (Research Methods and Publication Ethics); Farrukh Raza, Chairman of IFAAS, with extensive global experience in Islamic finance advisory, policy design, and institutional governance projects (Islamic Corporate Governance); Prof. Hasan Hacak, a scholar of Islamic law and member of the IIFM Shariah Board (Usul al-Fiqh); and Dr. Tarık Akın, Head of Participation Finance at the Investment and Finance Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye and member of the AAOIFI Education Board (Islamic Capital Markets). Through the courses they will teach, they will contribute to a rich learning environment where students can benefit from both academic expertise and real-world experience in Islamic economics and finance.
