Prof. Hacı Mehmet Günay, a member of the CIEF Board at Ibn Haldun University, has been appointed Deputy Chairman of the Central Advisory Committee of the Türkiye Participation Banks Association (TKBB), effective July 1, 2026.

Prof. Hacı Mehmet Günay, a member of the Board of the Center for Applied Research in Islamic Economics and Finance (CIEF) at Ibn Haldun University, has been appointed Deputy Chairman of the Central Advisory Committee of the Türkiye Participation Banks Association (TKBB). His appointment took effect on July 1, 2026.

Under the new composition of the TKBB Central Advisory Committee, Prof. Ertuğrul Boynukalın serves as Chairman, with Prof. Hacı Mehmet Günay serving as Deputy Chairman. The Committee plays an important institutional role in developing professional principles and standards for participation banking, evaluating industry practices from a Shariah perspective, and contributing to greater consistency across the sector.

Prof. Hacı Mehmet Günay has extensive academic experience in Islamic law. He currently serves as a faculty member and Dean of the School of Islamic Studies at Ibn Haldun University, in addition to his membership on the CIEF Board. He also serves as a Board Member and Deputy Chairman of the Halal Accreditation Agency.

Prof. Günay’s new role on the TKBB Central Advisory Committee represents an important responsibility at the intersection of Islamic law and participation finance, particularly in relation to Shariah governance, industry standards, and the continued institutional development of participation banking in Türkiye.
