The Center for Applied Research in Islamic Economics and Finance and the Department of Economics at Ibn Haldun University are pleased to invite you to our upcoming webinar titled "The Development of Islamic Finance in the United Kingdom".

This webinar will explore the experience of the United Kingdom as one of the key centers in the global Islamic finance ecosystem. The session will address the historical development of Islamic finance in the UK, its institutional and regulatory environment, the significance of London as a global financial center, and the UK’s broader role in the international Islamic finance landscape.

Our speaker, Prof. Mehmet Asutay, is Professor of Middle Eastern and Islamic Political Economy & Finance at Durham University, Director of the Durham Centre for Islamic Economics and Finance, and the 2024 laureate of the IsDB Prize for Impactful Achievement in Islamic Economics.

The program aims to provide a platform for knowledge and experience sharing among researchers, industry professionals, graduate students, and all participants interested in comparative country experiences in Islamic finance.
